OnStyle’s ‘Change Orientation’ feature lets you to create landscape sections in your document in an easy way. Just select the part of the document you want to change, click on the Orientation button. OnStyle performs all necessary changes in the document. The function can be also invoked with the ALT+G keystroke combination.

Start a new blank landscape section

Place the cursor at the point where you want to insert the new landscape section. Click the Orientation button. OnStyle inserts a new landscape page. The rest of the document remains in portrait orientation.

Change a part of the document to landscape

Select a part of the document and click the Orientation button. OnStyle changes the orientation of selection to landscape.

Change a table to landscape

Select the table or simply place the cursor somewhere in the table. OnStyle changes the orientation of whole table to landscape.

If you select only a part of the table, OnStyle will give an error message, and the table will not be changed.

To keep the caption of the table on right place, select the table and the caption before clicking the Orientation button.

If you are editing an OnStyle document with a RuleSet assigned to it, the table captions generated by OnStyle will be automatically kept together with the table.

How it works

  • OnStyle inserts section breaks to the beginning and to the end of the part of the document to change its orientation
  • Of course, it works to change landscape parts of the document to portrait orientation.
  • If you change back to portrait the same part of the document, the unnecessary section breaks will be deleted.
  • Change Orientation function cannot be applied in Headers and Footers.
