Repeating Characters

It is not recommended to format the document with entering repeating spaces or tabs.

Check

Use this OnStyle check to find repeating characters in the document. The result will be shown in the Check Results pane.

The following characters are checked by this function:

• Repeating spaces

• Repeating tabs

Fix

You have to different options to fix the repeating characters.

• Remove Repeating Characters
  This will remove all repeating characters
• Remove Additional Characters
  This will remove all repeating characters but one.

The fix is available on all levels, you can fix all in one run, or individual errors.

Clicking on one of the results in the Check Results pane will allow you to navigate to the paragraph that contains the repeating character.

You can activate ‘Show All Formatting Symbols/Marks’ function in the Tools group on the OnStyle-Editor ribbon to make repeating tabs and spaces more visible.
