Formatting marks are symbols to help to make it visible formatting elements in the document, such as paragraph marks, tabulators, breaks and spaces.

View hidden formatting marks in the document

• Press the ToolsShow All Formatting Symbols/Marks button or the ALT+CTRL+7 keyboard shortcut can be used for the same effect.. The button’s background will be shaded; the hidden marks will be displayed in the document.
• Show / Hide Hidden Text button will switch to ‘Hide Hidden Text’ and will be inactive
• Show / Hide Instructions button will switch to ‘Hide Instructions’ and will be inactive

Hide formatting marks in the document

• Press the ToolsShow All Formatting Symbols/Marks button or the ALT+CTRL+7 keyboard shortcut can be used for the same effect. The button’s background is no longer highlighted, formatting marks are not shown in the document.
• Show / Hide Hidden Text button will switch to its original value and will be active again
• Show / Hide Instructions button will switch to its original value and will be active again
